Sunset on the beach at Chiarone at the end of another very hot day during the June heatwave, one of our favorite beaches on the coast south of Argentario. There are two great establishments on the beach here just 10 minutes from Capalbio, Ultima Spiaggia and La Dogana, and Ultima’s free beach, Penultima, is here as well.

There are cafes and restaurants, showers, bathrooms, umbrella and sunbed hire, and lots of cheap parking right behind the dunes. Doggos are welcome, and there’s a dog beach at the end of Penultima too. We’re here often; there’s room to find your own space, the sand is lovely, and the water is fresh and clear. Small children need to be kept an eye on though, because it gets deep quite quickly when you wade out.
