One of the most beautiful things about the beaches in the region is how extensive the free beaches are. There has been a lot of recent discussion and active campaigns protesting how much of Italy’s beautiful coastline is reserved for paying customers at commercial establishments, but the beaches of Capalbio are unique, we think, with miles of free and unrestricted sandy coastline.
Yes there are small sections of reserved beach here, but they’re run by friendly staff that run wonderful bars and amenities that are open to everyone, and who clean and maintain large stretches of free beach as well. You might want to hire an umbrella, sure, but are not required to do so if you have your own, and the bar and showers and toilets that they run for everyone is a short walk away!
