Capalbio has a number of excellent restaurants, including La Porta on the outer medieval walls overlooking the sea, Trattoria da Maria on the main square outside the city gates, Ristorante Tullio a bit further down the hill , and Il Frantoio on Piazza del Provvidenza. There are also a number of small general stores, a great butcher on Piazza Ignazio Silone, a fresh bakery, a chemist, and a bunch of cool cafes.

That’s without mentioning the absolutely fabulous bars and restaurants on the beaches, such as those at Ultima Sipaggia in Chiarone, in Macchiatonda, Ansedonia, and Feneglia. For supermarkets, the nearest is at the bottom of the hill in Borgo Carige, an excellent Carrefour in Capalbio Scalo, and a big cheap Coop in Orbetello, which is only 20 minutes away.
