The Maremma is famous for its rich and varied ecosystems, from the rocky coastlines to the sandy beaches, the rich famlands and golden plain, to the green hills and thick wooded forest mountains. The beaches are incredibly popular in summer, but just as special is the quiet and cool autumn and winter months.

We have guests who come to us in these months to explore the trails and country lanes that wind through the hills, forests, and wild fields, and who appreciate the fresh country air, the quiet and solitude, and the beauty of region.

Our houses are private and heated, with free internet and all the utensils and bedding you might need for an extended stay. Capalbio has a number of fine restaurant, bars, two small general stores, delicatessens, a fresh bakery and cake shop, a butcher, and large supermarkets at the bottom of the hill.
