This lovely little wooden food kiosk on the corner of the main E80 highway and the turnoff to Capalbio Scalo is called Il Picciolo. It’s a restaurant, basically, and beautifully set up to serve lots of tasty stuff immediately to people grabbing something to eat bedside the highway on their way back to Rome. You can too.
You get a tray, point at what you want, pay at the other end, and find a place to sit on the long wooden table under the trees. It’s not particularly cheap, but it’s fast and easy, there’s lots of parking, the food is great, and you don’t have to worry about leaving the beautiful sunsets at the beach to rush to the supermarket before it closes. Not to mention then having to cook…
