Our favorite gelato in the area is down the hill in Capalbio Scalo at Gelateria Gusto Capalbio . Capalbio itself has a few small gelaterias, the best of which is Finentora on Piazza Belvedere at the main entrance to the old town, but Gusto Capalbio is something else entirely, trust us.

Capalbio Scalo is a functional little village, but it has the nearest modern supermarket, a number of shops and cafes, the local train station, and is the intersection for the beach road north and south along the coast, which is a nice alternative to driving up and down the highway.
