Our favorite beach in the area is Ultima Spiaggia in Chiarone, and Dogana just next to it, both just a few minutes down the highway from the turnoff to Capalbio. It has a great bar and restaurant, accessible parking, toilets, showers, sunbed and umbrella hire, and a large free beach. The water is clear and clean, and the sand is lovely, and it a beautiful place to explore the miles of beach in both direction and the sand dunes behind it. There’s a even a dedicated dog beach a just few hundred metres away.
