It’s snowing in the Maremma! The forests and hills are beautiful, and the ski slopes at Monte Amiata are open with a range of easy, intermediate, and difficult slopes, plus a lovely valley run through the forest. Day tickets are inexpensive, and it’s a straightforward (and beautiful) drive north to Manciano then up through Saturnia and Semproniano to the mountain national park.

We have a number of guests with us at this time of year, extended winter stays, who settle in to rest and relax, read and explore, and enjoy the quiet and stillness of the region at this time of year. The bars and restaurants in Capalbio are open and welcoming, the shops and supermarkets operate at usual times, and our apartments are warm and heated and private, with all the warm blankets and utilities your might need for an extended winter stay.
