Grosseto doesn’t win any beauty awards compared to places like Siena or Florence, but we post a lot about the remarkable history of the Maremma and there’s nowhere better to understand that than at Grosseto’s Museo Archeologico e d’Arte della Maremma.

In five sections and 40 rooms laid out chronologically from prehistoric times to the Middle Ages, there are thousands or archeological pieces and works of art, including ceramics, urns, bowls, pottery, statues, engravings, weapons, bowls, utensils, cups, jars, jewellery, ornaments, and artwork. It’s a lot, and it’s all fabulous.
