It’s September, it’s cooler, and we’ve had one or two raining days, but this is our favorite time of year in Capalbio. The weather is lovely, the water is warm, the sunsets are marvelous, everything is open, the summer crowds have gone, and the evening air is crisp and fresh. We have regular guests throughout this month and next who know this too, and now we’ve told you our little secret

It’s quiet and still in town, perfect for long lazy aperetifs and coffee in Capalbio’s bars, or savoring the fabulous local cuisine in one of the terrific restaurants perched against the castle walls. Summer may be over, but the Maremma is wonderful all year round.
